From the babynames.com Celebrity Baby Blog:

It's a girl for Season Four Top Chef finalist Richard Blais. The Atlanta-based chef and his wife, Jazmin Zepeda, welcomed daughter Riley Maddox, yesterday [Thursday, May 29]. The newest little sous chef weighed seven pounds, nine ounces and was 21 inches long.

This BN blogger was lucky enough to sit next to the parents-to-be last Monday night at the Atlanta hotspot Noche, where Blais remained mum on outcome of the hit reality series and doted on his very pregnant wife between bites of tapas.

What do we think?

So, some of these announcements came from Canada (where I live) and others came from the United States (I searched for some, because I'm a freak who enjoys posting baby names for your viewing pleasure :P)

I know a lot of people who are having babies! Here are some recent editions

I know one girl who is expecting her first child (a girl) and the planned name is Lilyan. I really don't like the y there, but what I thought was really interesting is that, as some of you may remember, I have another pregnant friend naming her daughter Lilyth. I know the girls know each other, but don't know if ones name choice influenced the other.

Born May 30th, a boy, Jason Elliot (Parents: David and Laura, brother: Cayden ) I personally like Jason much better than Cayden
And then my cousin (Brett) and his wife (Keturah) just had their first child, a girl, Anaiah Marie. I'd never heard the name Anaiah before, but googling it brings up this site:http://www.bible-history.com/smiths/A/Anaiah/ I completley expected them to pick a more obscure Biblical name, both are very religious, and given his wife's name, it seemed fitting. I do like the sound Anaiah, I'm mostly just glad they didn't name her Victoria Marie, because I want that name!

any thoughts?

names from my 2002 graduating class
I was looking through my old yearbook today, I went to a private school in a really small town, so these are all pretty tame.

my bf and i both like the nicknames Libby and Cammy (for a girl, obviously)... what are some names that you could get these nicknames from?
[identity profile] istytehcrawk.livejournal.com
What would you have been named if you weren't named what you were named?

Or, to be less dense, what other names did your parents consider for you and your siblings?

I am: Misty Lynn.

I could have been:
Joee (yuck - one of mom's top choices)
Brandee (yuck - ditto)
Daphne (meh - mom overruled because she didn't want me to be called Daffy)
Tiffany (yuck - ditto above, but Tiffy)
Scott Anthony (if I had been a boy) - (meh. Not horrible, but not great)

My sister is: Summer Lynn

She could have been:
Joshua Ray (yuck) (Ray was after her father) - this is now my cousin's name
Autumn

What if...

I found the baby book my mom had when she was pregnant with me. There are some interesting names highlighted.

* = would have liked it as my name
X=soooo glad it isn't my name!

If I was a girl:

Femme )

If I was a boy:

Homme )

If I had my way, from this list, I would have been Mara or Julianna/Roderick or Jeremy.
