My partner and I are considering having children and some point in the near or distant future. We have a boy name and a girl name we've picked out.

Sullivan (or Sulliven) Michael Hollis (Michael after the father, Hollis after my grandfather) nn Sully

Elisabeth Lydia Jane (All random and not intentionally named after the group of sisters in Pride and Prejudice, though it is one of my favorite books) nn Libby or E-beth

WDYT?

 HELP!
My co-worker is due in a few weeks and so far, no names. They haven't found out the sex yet. She doesn't like names that are too trendy or too middle namey (Katherine or Marie, etc). She already has Hayden (he was before the -ayden craze, sheath your claws) and Maren, so she doesn't want anything that ends with the same sound. Her favorite name for a boy so far is Graham, but hubby isn't ga-ga over it. She has liked names such as Jocelyn, Charlotte, and Levi, but knows people with those names so she doesn't want to call her kid that. Last name is 4 syllables, starts with a hard C. She is not opposed to a first name that starts with a hard C. Anyway.... suggestions?

I was looking over the 'names that rhyme with maiden' listed here http://www.socialsecurity.gov/pressoffice/pr/baby-names2007-pr.htm and then went and looked at the actual top 1000 list and noticed that there were actually 7 more homonyms for Aiden, Brayden, Hayden, and Caden, for a total of 41 rhyming names not including two that I have heard pronounced to rhyme with them, but I was wanting to ask here. I know that there are people from all over in this group and everyone pronounces names a little differently, so I am wondering which of you would pronounce Peyton and Payton to rhyme with Aidyn, Braydon, Jaydan, Haden etc?

Around here the one little boy and one little girl that I know named Peyton and Payden (which is not on the top 1000) have their names pronounced pretty much the same...but I suspect it would not be that way everywhere.

One of my teachers has two children: Spencer and Carter. Both boys. I like Spencer a bit more than Carter, but I think they're both nice, and I like the fact that they're not all too popular.

What do you think?

Reid/Reed for a boy.

Brielle/Briella for a girl. Possibly Gabriella as name with Briella as a nn.

WDYT?

What do you think of these names?:

Ada
Adela
Adeline
Autumn
Camilla
Caroline
Cassandra
Eloise
Evelyn
Grace
Ida
Irene
Margaret
Norah
Rose
Susanna
Theodora

Also, based on those names, what boys' names would you suggest? My list is pretty barren right now. The only boy's name I currently love is William, even considering how popular it is (and it probably won't be any less so in 5 - 15 years when/if I have kids).

Roman

I took my friend's children to the park for the first time today. I had known the family for a while, but never had a chance to learns their names. Here they are:

Mom's name:
Glendalyn Michelle

Father's name:
Ramsey (don't know his middle name)

5 year old daughter:
MaKaiya (pronounced Mah-kye-ah, I don't remember her middle name, it was really OUT THERE)

3 year old daughter:
ShaMaiya Hayden (Shuh-Maya)

2 year old son:
Ty (I'm not sure what the full name is, something along the lines of Tyrus Ramsey...idk)

5 month old little girl:
Arhaiya Deih (pronounced Ah-rye-ah Day)

Let's just say these aren't ordinary names (the kids are SUPER sweet tho), but I do like the name Ramsey alot (for a girl), and I actually really like the name MaKaiya (preferably not that spelling, but it sounds pretty in my ears).

While browsing name lists recently and came across the name OCEANA. I love the way it looks but am a little clueless as to how to pronounce it.
Google told me several different things:

O-see-anna
O-she-ah-nuh/O-she-anna
O-shanna

How would you say it? Or rather which is correct/most common (maybe all are in usage?)
Thanks in advance. I think I like O-she-anna best.

From my hometown newspaper:

State police said Hello Theodore, 63, was traveling west on I-80 when he lost control of his tractor-trailer as the front driver's side tire went flat.

How do you pronounce Irena?

I've heard Eye-ree-nah, Ee-reh-nah, and ee-Ray-nah.

What combos would you like with it?

A while ago I made a post about my sister's newly adopted daughter and that they'd changed her name from Nevaeh to Maggie. Well I'm very pleased to let you all know that I love my sister still. lol My newest niece's name is fully 'Margret Claire!' I personaly love the name! Margret is my Mother's middle name so that just makes it even more special I think. So... 'Margret Claire' WDYT?
