I know two girls named Brandy. My best friend is really keen on naming her daughter (whenever she has one) Alize. =\ Im trying my hardest to get her to reconsider.
There isnt anything wrong with the name elise/elyse. and maybe she could pronounce it like that if she wanted to, but my friend is dead set on Alize, "Al-Uh-Zay" I just think names like that might give the impression that her mother was drunk on something when she was born.
I know a kid named Jack Daniels (no middle name). His parents are the epitome of rednecks, but they're good people for the most part. He loves his name, so I guess it doesn't matter too much.
i've come across: numerous Brandys, Tequila, Margarita, Morgan, Bailey, Alize... and a girl with the middle name Champane (YES spelled wrong, the mother didn't know how the eff to even SPELL it).
no, but it's still ridiculous to assume someone who names their kid Bailey did so because of the alcohol. especially considering how the alcohol was named after a person in the first place...
Brandy and Sherry are common names. Margarita was a girl's name before it was a drink, but still. I've met at least one of each of those. Bailey is becoming popular, but I don't think most people associate it with the drink when naming their child, since it's also a common surname and becoming a common first name. I've heard Hennessey used, though I've never known one personally, but I went to school with a Jack Daniel Lastname (he went by J.D.).
I once met a woman who went by the nickname of Gin (her name was Virginia). That in itself isn't horrible, but then she decided to carry on that trend and actually named her daughter Tanqueray. I am not kidding.
I've known a few Brandys, but that's all I can think of.
This did remind me of something that happened every year in my high school Spanish classes, though. When the teacher would let us pick our own Spanish names, several girls would fight over who was going to be Margarita. Every year, the teacher would say, "Um, guys, you DO realize Margarita is a version of Daisy, right?"
