Just curious on the overall reaction of the name Gwendolyn/Gwendolen. I think it's really pretty in my head and I love the nickname Gwen, but when I say Gwendolyn out loud, it sounds like such a handful. So, reactions?

I like Gwen, despite the Gwen Stefani reference, but I prefer Gwyneth, but then again, you have the Gwyneth Paltrow references.

I really like Gwendolyn, spelled this way. And the nick name Gwen is super cute.

I don't like Gwendolyn very much. It reminds me of an obnoxious elf or something. But I do like Gwyneth!

I like it. It's my cousin's name but she goes by Gwen for the most part. It's pretty unusual/uncommon, so that could be a plus.

i really like Gwen. So why not just name her Gwen? Or Gwenevere. If you would go for Gwendolyn i'd spell it like that. It's pretty.

I like Gwendolyn. And you can mostly call her by Gwen anyways. I like both names.

I think it is a lovely name, but get shortened often because it's such a mouthful. I also like Gweneth/Gwyneth, but associate it too much with Gwyneth Paltrow.

I prefer the Gwendolen spelling.

If you like the Gwen nick name there's always also Guinevere which is close

I think Gwendolen is a lovely name, not a handful at all - it's possible that many of us have become accustommed to shorter names in current trends that longer names are often looked over.

My daughter is named Alexandra and people are stunned to find out we don't refer to her by a nickname; they especially love to comment that it must be such a mouthful for my three year old as if he'll never be able to say it (He calls her Xandra or usually 'the baaaaby').

I don't really like it. I prefer Gwyneth, and I'm not especially fond of the nickname Gwen.

I like Gwen, but Gwendolyn seems really overdone to me.

If you prefer Gwen, I think it could be a stand-alone name, too...

My friend just had a baby and named it Gwynnevere. (spelling was parents choice) At first I didn't like it at all. But now having known the baby it suits her.

I know when she is older she will go by Gwynn. It's just easier and not such a mouthful.
