[identity profile] feelslike-2day.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
I started my last placement for school today and one of the classes I'm is a Senior Kindergarten, who all have surprisingly normal names...

Blake
Matthew
Chase
Hunter
Anthony
Micheal (pronounced the same as 'Michael')
Tyler

Devanne (like Devon)
Keeley (who i found out has an older brother in grade 4 who's name is Gage)
Chloe
Kasandra
Bryer (Ididn't like it at first but it's growing on me...though I like the spelling 'Breyer' better)
Isabell (yeah, two l's no e, weirdest spelling, but still pronounceable)
Breanna

WDYT?

I like Chase, Hunter, Anthony, Chloe, and Breanna. I dont like Isabell, but i like the nickname Belle. Breyer? No. That's ice cream.

I liked the name Bryer for awhile. But I liked it spelled Brier, like Grier.

I think Gage and Keeley is an over-the-top-trendy sibling set.

Lol, why did they spell Michael wrong?

I like all of the boys names, though I prefer the spelling Michael.

The girls...
Not fond of Devon on a girl, not even with the Devanne spelling.
Keely...I dislike.
I LOVE Chloe.
I prefer Cassandra to Kasandra.
Bryer is...I don't know. I keep coming back to that name as one I kind of like, but doubt I would ever use. If I DID use it, however, it would be spelled Briar.
Isabell is okay, but I really love Isabella.
I love Breanna, but prefer the spelling Brianna.

How do you pronounce Grier? Because, I'd pronounce it Greer, but I'd pronounce Brier BRI-er...with a long "I" sound, as opposed to a long "E" sound.

I actually kind of like the Keeley and Gage sibset, but I have no feelings toward either name by itself.

I like Matthew, Anthony (one of my top two), Michael (not Micheal though...), & Chloe.

I would probably say it 'GRI-er' without thinking about it but I think you're right, it is pronounced Greer.

I have a friend named Jason Micheal. One of his pet peeves is for people to ask him why his name is "spelled wrong." People misspell it all the time, he says, even when he makes sure to specify, and some even try to correct him after he writes it on forms, as if he doesn't know how to spell his own name.

I just recently posted on my own LJ about a Micheal I'd come across, and someone told me that spelling IS considered a legitimate (though less common) alternative...

Apparently, it's a Gaelic form (http://www.ehow.com/how_2088012_choose-name-michael-baby.html).

Can't get into Briar/Bryar, because to me the word only indicates a prickly bush :-/
