So... I'm kinda starting to really like the name Sienna due to my significant other's adoration of it ;) But regardless of how pretty I think it sounds, I think it sounds too "trendy" whenever I say it out loud or in my mind.

What do you all think of this name? It's such a shame because I was beginning to become very attached to it!

A friend of mine's sister just had a little girl called Sienna Jae. I prefer it Siena but the name is too popular for me now.

I didn't even realize it was popular. The only thing that comes to mind when I see it is Sienna Miller lol.

Sienna is the english name for an italian tuscan city, named Siena.
"Terra di Siena" and "terra di Siena bruciata" are two shades of brown, the first is goldish, the other one more reddish-brown.
They literally mean "earth of Siena" and "burned earth of Siena".

I still don't think I've overcome the english butchering with the double 'n' :P but I'll admit it looks better in that spelling for a name.

Too bad I really dislike Sienna Miller, that affects my liking for the name, in terms of trendiness.

It does seem a little trendy to me. Plus, it reminds me of Sierra, which I don't like. Plus...I remember thinking when I was little that the sienna Crayola crayon was possibly the ugliest out of all 172 (or however many that huuuuuuge box contained), so I've always associated the name with, as I probably put it as a five-year-old...ick.

Yeah it reminds me of art class and the paint colour "Burnt Siena"

The only reason I don't like it is because I hate the name Sierra. But it is a pretty name, and I didn't know it was popular.

I LOVE Sienna. It does seem a bit trendy to me - it went from being in the 600s in 2004 to being something like 199 in 2006 - but it's a gorgeous name, IMO. It's in my top ten. :)

I love Sienna, but agree that it's becoming trendy.

It is becoming trendy, but it's not obnoxious.

Bottom line, it's a lovely name, trendy or not. And (right now) it's not overly popular.
