I remember back in middle school I used to get these two boys mixed up:
Garrett
Garrick

personally I don't like either; if I really had to pick one I'd say Garreth

Edit: Girl in one of my classes who switched out. Xilda. [jill-dah]. Went by the nickname of Jill.

love love love her name and the spelling but despised her nickname. Why would you take something so unique and turn it into something boring?

WDYT?

I like Garrett. I've never heard Garrick before.

Garrick reminds me of Garak from Deep Space Nine. I don't really like either to be honest, but Gareth is ok I guess.

Oh last year I had a friend named Garrett he was so funny. So I like that name.
Xilda..she probably went by Jill cause people pronounced it wrong? It looks like Ex-il-da or something

that is what i worry about ppl doing to my baby'a name. Her name is Lorelai and i dont want people to call her Lori. Rory is a nickname for Lorelai but not Lori. Or Lora.

Because I don't think most people consider the impact 'creative' names/spellings have on their children, who have to live with it being an actual name as opposed to some cute novelty idea.

I know a guy who's last name is Garrioch and pronounced like Garrick, so that seems like a last name to me and sounds weird as a first name.

I would pick Garrett.

Honestly if I had a name like that..I'd probably go by Jill too.

How in the world do you get a J sound from an X? Is there a language that does that and I missed it? If it were ZILL-dah, I would love it.

I like Garret and Gareth; Garrick isn't too bad, but I'm not all that fond of it.

I am not against unusual names, but I think parents need to be careful how things are spelled. It's ridiculous for them to have something like "xilda". I think it should have been "Jillda" or "Zilda".

I hate Garrick. It looks like a last name.

I work with a Garrett. I like that name a lot. I don't like Garrick much, and Gareth makes me think of Garth, which makes me think of Wayne's World, and while I love the character of Garth...yeah.

I don't like Xilda much, in spelling or pronunciation. I'm the kind of person who doesn't want any help standing out, so in her position, I'd probably prefer to go by Jill, too, although I don't especially like that name, either.
