its me again....

I just talked to a good friend of mine and she told me that if she would expect a little babyboy she´d give him the firstname FRODO
her boyfriend´s last name starts with a B and she told me very proud about this fact
I asked her if she would give him a middle name but she wasnt sure....

first I was a bit..well...not sure what to think about that...

I mean I like eowyn or arwen ....but frodo ? or aragorn ? or legolas ?...

but then I remembered a boy with the name frodo..he is about 35 years now and he never had problems with his name and was proud of it...

and I must say..this idea is growing on my..not as a first name but maybe as a third name...

Yeah, I don't like it. To me, I automatically associate it with the lord of the rings character. Maybe not all of her kid's schoolmates will get that connection when he's older, but most of her kid's teachers/friend's parents will. I think it's kind of silly, really.

Gah. I'm a big Lord of the Rings fan, but that's definitely going too far. I mean, yeah, Eowyn and Arwen are okay... Galadriel or something is pushing it. But Frodo? Yikes, people. Yikes.

The only LotR name I would consider is Elanor, and then only as a middle name.

I like it ^^ Although I would probably never use it as a first name, but as a middle name? Why not.

I like it, but...yeah, it's too connected with LOTR. I wish I could name my future daughter Eowyn, but it seems a little silly when I really think about it.

I like literary names like Frodo . . . for pets. I feel like if I named a kid Frodo or Arwen I would be dooming them to the "Oh, your parents must have liked The Lord of the Rings!" comments for the rest of his/her life.

Definitely not for a child.

Like [livejournal.com profile] weena said, it's a good name for a pet, but to name a child that is a bit much.

I would so love to have the guts to name someone after one of the main chararcters of LOTR!
Although I'd pick Aragorn if I was going to do it!
