Two new babies

I've posted this one already, but my best friend and her husband just welcomed Xander James into their family. I hate the name Xander. One of the reasons is that no one can get it right. Our pastor wanted us to pray for them the week they were to have him, and he called him Anders. At her baby shower, all these ladies kept calling him Ex-ander. My husband calls him Xerox, shamelessly. Bleh. But I can't say anything.

This morning, another couple in our church welcomed Sabra Lynne C. She is little sister to Lucas. I don't know Lucas' middle name.

I don't mind Sabra, but it reminds me of So You Think You Can Dance. Mom and dad are Sara and Jonathan.

I like Xander and it is actually my cousin's sons name (he's 1) but his full name is actually Alexander and Xander is a nicknames. I really like it though..esp as the nickname

Sabra isn't my style though. Not crazy bout that one

I don't like Xander. But then again, I don't like x-names in general.
Here, it's pronounced like Ksander.

I think Xander is a cute nick name for Alexander, but I'm not crazy about it as a proper name.

I liked Sabra from so you think you can dance (love the show!) but I don't know if I'd go as far as name my kid after her. I guess it's alright though. Especially if she's not actually named after that Sabra.

I like Xander, but only as a nickname for Alexander. I agree; it's too out there and too nicknamey for a given name, and no one knows how to pronounce it.

I went on a seminar in Hawaii and they hired a woman named Sabra to give us a tour and teach us how to hula. So when I hear the name Sabra I think of elderly Hawaiian ladies.
