Our second son would have been named Eliza, I adore that name. But Lily, Hazel, and Aurora were choices on our list...so I have to say you have good taste ;)

I don't think many people would agree with me, but I'd got with Ruth. Reason? Lily is a very feminine and sweet name - I love it, but I think it should go with one that's less "flowery" - otherwise the combination sounds very... pink and frilly, if you know what I mean! For example, Lily Aurora or Lily Skye sounds like a sweet little girl wearing a pretty dress and playing with porcelain dolls...

I think Lily needs to go with a strong and more "serious" name. Ruth is strong, has a history behind it, and has very positive associations of an examplary woman. It balances Lily very well, and takes it past the sweet little girl years and into adulthood. And the rhythm of the syllables in "Lily Ruth" sounds nice to boot. In my opinion it's an underappreciated name!

Just Lily. I don't really like Lillian. And if it was Lillian with the nn Lily, then whenever she got a new teacher at school she would have to correct them when they read her name on the register..

Oh, I'm not actually naming a baby, yet. I'm not pregnant or even trying. But I just seem to be going through a phase of being totally obsessed with baby names. It's like I HAVE to choose now (even thought I don't really).

This is irrevelant to the subject but I love the name Olivia. I really don't like the name Lily, it has a bad connotation for me. I prefer the name Lillian.

I normally dislike the Olivia, but Lily Olivia sounds beautiful to me.

My sister just had this dilemma! She ended up choosing Lily Jane, (Jane is her middle name)
They were chose Lily after a relative called Lillian but couldn't decide on the middle name, I think it took them a week.

I think Grace goes best, but in terms of other names I like I'd probably choose Annabel or Amelia
