Two Names!

 Name 1:  Francesca.  I love it!  My grandpa was named Francesco, so I think it would be wonderful.  As for nicknames though... any ideas?  I like Frankie, Chica, or Frances, but not FRANNY.

Name 2:  Conchara.  It is a family name, and I think it is very pretty.  I can not find much on it anywhere.  Actually, I yahoo searched and the first thing was an obituarary with someone from my hometown, lol.  Asked Jennifer about it on babynames.com, but she just advised against it and sent me a link to urbandictionary.com.  Apparantly "Concha" is slang for vagina in Spanish.  Not a strong enough reason for me to not use the name.

One of my friend is named Francesca and we call her "Chess", like the second syllable of the name. I love Francesca.

I'm not really a fan of Conchara. I think it could work as a middle name, but not really as a first name, especially with it being slang for vagina in Spanish.

I wish I new how common "Concha" was. I'm bilingual (eh mostly kind of sort of), but I have never heard that use. Besides, the name is Italian anyway.

I love Francesca and I love the nn Frankie. For a more girly nn Frances is cute, too.

I really don't like Conchara. Sorry. It just seems.. ugly to me. I'm not sure why. I think I want to think of "cockroach" or something. :( I think Concetta is prettier... but it's still.. a little too much for me.

francesca is my number one name. some people are trying to talk me out of it, but i ADORE it and i am almost positive i am going to stick with it if i have a girl! i have been trying to come up with alternate nicknames too, because i really dislike fran/frances. i love frankie, probably more than i like francesca to be quite honest, but plan on also using cesca (pronounced: chess-kuh, just like the end of francesca)

also? as if i didnt love it enough, my grandfathers name was francis, and the meaning of the name francesca is "freedom" and oh my, i dont know that i could find more perfection.

Love Francesca. It's actually my cat's name. Ha. We call her Chessie, which I think is adorable. She's a rescue kitty and came with her name, otherwise I'd totally consider it for a little girl.

What I love about it is that you can do so much with the name and tailor it exactly to your little girl's personality. Is she super feminine? Francie, France, Chessie, Cesca, Annie. Is she a tomboy? Frankie, Rani, Randi.... lots of choices!

I don't like Francesca too much, but I saw Chessie suggested above as a nickname and I think that work very well.

Conchara...the first thing I thought of was the fact that it was slang for "vagina." For what it's worth, I'm a very white, very non-Hispanic American girl and I'm familiar with that slang. I don't know how commonly known it is, though.
