Different names

Well we finally found out that we are having a little boy and both partner and I decided on the name

Rowan Dante William


problem is, we dont actually refer to our little boy as Rowan...or Dante...or even william or billy or anything to do with this name.

he gets called Lakshan ( nn lucky)  WDYT?

It sounds odd, but Being Half Indian myself and my mum and her family all being Indian it sorta fits in with the family. My partner, although doesnt want to call the baby Lakshan, is constatly calling him Lucky or Laks. What other names are there that you could use the name Lucky or Laks as a nickname?

(note: i personaly love the name Lakshan and would be happy to call my son that but there is the risk of teasing with such a differnt name...even if its not differnt sounding to me ;) )

I second using Lakshan as a middle name. That way, calling him Lakshan (or a variation of such) won't be so out of left field.

yes thats what i thought but my partner is not wanting the name full stop...even though thats what he calls our little one ( yes my partner is odd...and this is from the man wanting to call our son rasputin aiiiii!!!! or vladmir !!!!) thats why i need to find something similar :)

I agree and wanted to but Partner wont have a bar of it...it was hard enough to get him to agree to william... but no partner wants something "unique" like vladmir or Rasputin...lol and the thing thats even weirder is that he isnt russian or anything like that... hes basing it on his fav comp games

Lakshan is cute. But if you're worried about teasing, you can always anglicize it, right? I second tryyingtoevolve's suggestion =)

I do like Lakshan. I say take it and the name Rowan to the hospital with you, and decide once he is born.

yes i reakon this will prolly happen, lol! Its always better to have a range of names anyway so if one doesnt fit theres always something else there :D
