What spelling do you guys prefer of the name Sidney? I prefer Sidney. I think Sydney is alright, but too many Ys. I don't like Cydney.
Also, what about a middle name with the surname McNeill. Just curious. It's a name I've always had an interest in.

I like Sydney for girls and Sidney for boys. Normally I'm not a fan of names with multiple y's, but Sidney just looks SO masculine to me.

yeah, I agree with tryyingtoevolve. I think of Sidney as a boy's name and Sydney for girls. One of my cats (a girl) is named Sydney, but we call her Sid.

I perfer Sidney though I don't mind Sydney. I wouldn't ever use it. I'd never use a name with more than one 'y' in it. But I like it. And I like Sidney McNeill. Are you considering as a male or female name?

My Mom wanted to name me Sidney but was worried that people would think my name was Cindy.

I prefer the spelling Sidney. I agree that Sydney has too many y's and Cydney/Cidney looks wrong.

I think of Sidney as a boy's name, Sydney as a girl's. I don't like any other spellings.

I do kinda see Sydney for a girl & Sidney for a boy,
but I do know a girl named Sidney, so I think it works either way.
I prefer Sydney.

I was confused about the spellings when I was younger, because in the Scream movies, there's a character named Sidney... who's a girl. So that messed me up.

But, Sidney is a boy.
Sydney is a girl.
I prefer Sidney, but I'm not too fond of the name anyway.
