[identity profile] songspell.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
My husband and I have a list of baby names that we both like that is remarkably longer than I thought it would be. One of the names we like for a girl is Rayne pronounced like "rain" (I know, it's a misspelled-noun-name, but we like it...).

Anyway, it works pretty well for a middle name, but I've been trying to come up with middle names to use with Rayne as a first name. So far, all I can think of is "Marie". I really like the rhythm pattern of "Rayne Marie", but I really don't like the name Marie (it's my uncle's wife's name who has been really mean to us for as long as I can remember, so I can't really see naming my child "after" her).

Since this community seems to be better than most search engines for this kind of thing, can anyone suggest a middle name for Rayne with the same rhythm pattern as Rayne Marie?

[Edit]: "M" names aren't necessary. We haven't come up with a "preffered" set of initials.

Rayne Michelle?
Rayne Miette?

I didn't know if you wanted the same R.M theme ;)

I've always enjoyed Rayne aswell, are you fond of Rayna at all?

Rayne Ophelia (A very old name mixed in with a relatively new one, but I think the combination is quite lovely. Doesn't have the same "Marie" rhythm but I loved it so much I figured I'd let you have a look)

I also came up with Rayne Christine.

My brain isn't working very well today, sorry.

For some reason, Rayne Linnea was the first name that came to mind.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the name Rayne. I really wanted to use it, and I think I even had my husband convinced on it as a possibility until we moved close to a podunk town named Rayne. Spelled that way too. So everyone around here would associated the name with the town. :-(

I like Rayne Elyse or Rayne Adele.

And I agree with the Rayne Elyse suggestion, that one's really pretty too!

Someone said Rayne Maria. Just throwing out that there is a poet named Rainer Maria (a German dude). I think he's great, but if you don't, you might not think about naming a child such a close name. Just a thought though.
