I was looking through Welsh names, and came up with this one:
Rhedyn, female, meaning: fern.

I love it for personal associations to its meaning and sound/structure.
Just wanted to feel out your opinions :)

Thanks!

P.S. I'm reading it as RED-in, which now that I think of it, makes me like it even more, but how would you read it?
P.P.S. My mom reads it RAY-din (and she doesn't even know anything about the -aden trend!!) or REE-din.

I say it RAY-din too. It's kind of pretty =)

When I first read it, I read it as RED-in. Which, is pretty. I think I like it mostly because it's very close to my last name (Redding) and there's that comfortable area there. I can see RAY-din in it too, though. I like both pronunciations. =)

I read it as REE-din. I like the RAY-din though I think I'd hate having to explain it all the time...

I thought Ray-din too. I don't much like it, sorry.

i don't like RED-in, but RAY-din or REE-din aren't bad.

"Rhedyn has the following similar or variant names: Readan Readen Readin Readon Readyn Reedan Reeden Reedin Reedon Reedyn Rheadan Rheaden Rheadin Rheadon Rheadyn Rhedan Rheden Rhedin Rhedon Rheedan Rheeden Rheedin Rheedon Rheedyn"

From that list, it looks like you pick a pronunciation you like, and find a spelling to match? Hehe.

I read it as RED-in first, but I think it's more likely REED-in. I like all three possible pronunciations, though.

It makes me think that it's really supposed to be REE-Din.

I would have said Ray-din - although I have no idea how to pronounce it. I think it looks nice written down.

I'm Welsh and I'm pretty sure you don't say it RAY-din, because... well.... it doesn't sound Welsh to me that way :P I'd pronounce it like you - RED-in or REE-din. But it's probably RED-in.
