That's funny, I've never met anyone else who says Yvonne "Yuh-Vonne" instead of "E-vonne." My Grandma Yvonne pronounces her name the same way your grandmother does; she says it's because her parents didn't know the other way to say it.

I think it's just a very common name, in that generation. Add to the fact that my mom had an extremely common maiden name. In her high school there was another girl (can't remember if she was a couple years older or younger) with the name Tina Marie Smith.
