Okay, so I posted the other day about the name Nora Grace. I got really good feedback, but I am thinking that it is probably not the best name to use here in Holland (I am American, living in Holland with my Dutch hubby), after thinking about it some more. Plus, I do love Grace but it is so common and trendy right now, even here I just recently heard it, again. So, maybe that is not the best route. I have been thinking something Dutch, but nothing way out there.

I think I might go with Anouk (ah-nook) Elice. Anouk is a very Dutch name, sounds the same in English and when said with the Dutch accents and it is not too common here in Holland, though I have heard it once or twice. Is Elice the normal spelling? If so, that is how I want to go. I don't like all the 'unique' spellings. People want to be different but give commonish names. Just cause you spell it different does not make the name unique, in my opinion. I have seen it Elyce as well.

Do you think Anouk Elice goes together well? We really like Elice and it is pronounced El-ee-za in Holland. I cannot think of anything else that flows well with Anouk.

Elice sounds nice, I don't know what the most common spelling of it is but I've seen it spelled Alise before to. Elyce looks nicer though. Elice makes me think of lice when I look it because I automatically find the word in a word.

I am not too fond of Anouk.. but I love the name Elice.. I had a friend actually named that in high school her name was spelled Elise. I always thought it was pretty.

I think Anouk is a lovely and interesting name. I've usually seen it spelled "Elise," but if Elice is the more Dutch spelling, you can obviously go for that too. I think it's a great name overall.

Hmmm I like Elsa! The others do not grow on me. Plus my mom's girlfriend's name is Sonja, somehow I doubt my dad would appreciate that, lol.

Anouk is common here in Holland. Every school I've been to there always was an Anouk or Anouke in my class.

Why would Nora be a problem here? You can abbreviate it to Noortje, that's a cool name.

Dutchies wouldn't know how to pronounce Elice (elies probably, or elietsje. Friends of my husband and I named their girl Zoë Eliza. Maybe that's an idea?

I don't care for the Dutch first name, but that's just me. I think the middle name is spelled here as Elise or Elyse. I liked Elice at first glance, because my middle name is Alice, but on second thought, I think of lice, which is not so pleasant.

I LOVE the name Anouk. All these naysayers need to rent the movie Chocolat and see what a great name it is on a little girl! Sometimes a name doesn't seem real until you see it in use, and unfortunately it's an unheard of name in the U.S.

I think it's usually Elise or Elyse. Sounds fine with Anouk to me.

I am not fond of Anouk. It just looks strange (the letters next to each other). Elice is ok, don't love it, don't hate it. :) Only thing I have to offer in a suggestion is that if you are going to stay in holland then the names are probably fine! :) But if you come back to the states, noone will be able to pronoucne the name correctly. It's just something to consider :) Maybe something that would fit both places would work better? :)

how is Elice pronounced? I had a friend in school with that name. Her mother was Dutch. She said it Ellis, like Ellis island in NY.

I honestly think Anouk Grace would sound really good together. Even if it's trendy, its a very pretty name. To me, Grace is one of those classic names you can't go wrong with.

I also like Anouk Elice, even Elice Grace sounds good to me.

I love Anouk, i think it's very pretty and it's really not that difficult to pronouce! I prefer Elise to Elice but Elisa is really nice too.
