I still really like the name Temperance Joy for a girl, but in case I don't like the fact that I got it from a TV show, any suggestions on middle names to replace Joy. I'm still really sold on Temperance (or Temperence). Speaking of...which spelling do you prefer?

Date: 2007-11-30 03:09 pm (UTC)Joy doesn't fit quite right with it to me, considering they're both virtue names. It reminds me of names like Ruby Jade. When I hear them, I want to say, "So...which is it?"
As the above poster said, I'm bad with middle names. Something short definitely seems like a good idea, though, considering the length of the first name.

Date: 2007-11-30 03:37 pm (UTC)I think it's hard to come up with a middle name for a name that is also a word.. other obvious word names would make it tacky, imo.
I'd suggest an adjective, like a color.
Like Temperance Scarlett, for example.

Date: 2007-11-30 04:17 pm (UTC)I'm not a fan of the name, although I do like Joy. But you're set on using Temperance, I'd go with a non-word name for a middle, because otherwise she'll sound like a Puritan, lol.
Temperance Ann
Temperance Jane
Temperance Danielle
Temperance Samantha
Temperance Rebekah
Temperance Margaret
Temperance Louisa
Temperance Nadine

Date: 2007-11-30 05:47 pm (UTC)I also think Joy is probably not the best middle name, simply because I don't think joy should ever be tempered. The two words just don't really go together...
But I do think (depending on your last name) you should have a one-syllable middle name:
Belle
Anne
Brooke
Dawn
Faye
Gail
Jane
Lark
Paige
Lynn
Mae
Pearl
Rose
