[identity profile] ncsujen.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
I am going to be 33 weeks tomorrow and we haven't decided on a name yet for if the baby is a boy!

I want something kind of traditional and historical-sounding, but still unique. My name is Jennifer so I can't use something boring like that.

So my question is, what do you think about Ainndrue S. Jaxson?

The S is short for Skeletor because that's what we've been calling the baby since we saw an u/s at ~20 weeks and it looked like a skeleton. It's a nickname.

Of course the baby could be a "Skeletorette" but we already have names we like for girls. :)

As for the title. Not everyone in this communty is a "lady". :-P

I think you should spell it:

Aahynn-Duhreuw

You know, to make it look even more stupid.

He will have SO many people misspelling his name as Andrew if you name him Ainndrue. Spelling it Andrew would be so much simpler.

Also, have you considered that his name will sound like Andrew Jackson, former president?

Oh for god's sake, Jennifer. Just name him Jeaykweqetoiucb (Jacob) and be done with it.

...yeah. wow.

ainndrue is DEFINITELY a bastardized form of andrew, right? i'd avoid that. if you like the sound of traditional names but don't want something very popular -- i'd go with a simple james or jack. if you're trying to be unique atleast get creative, not wordy!

skeletor i can deal with cause that's sort of neat i guess -- but not many people are going to find it interesting like i do.

it's your baby, but ainndrue is too much for me to not be vocal about. good luck ♥ & congrats.

Ooh, that's pretty good. What about Anh-Diru? That would be cool - looks kind of tribal, or something!

Yeah, but it's a nice gesture to give your child a decent name. Especially considering it will be their legal name for 18 years until they can get it changed themselves.

LOL!!

How about Andreaux, he can be French. Or Androo, as an ode to Winnie the Pooh's pal Roo. Or Ayndroux since "x"s and "y"s are so cool, it's all about algebra.

Gaw. Gotta be a joke.

How do you pronounce that name? If it is a different spelling for Andrew, I have to say I don't see the point in making the same name harder to spell. If it's a different name altogether, I'd have to see the pronunciation key to say what I thought of it.

By traditional do you just mean a name that already exists and not one that's made up?
Flipping through the A section of my nearest baby name book, I have found these:

Alaric
Alastair/Allister
Alois
Amias
Anastasius
Anton
Asa
Ascelin
Asher
Augustin

Huh? I don't watch Family Guy. All these names were taken out of the boys section of a baby name book.

LMAO. Wow. Y'all, she's snarking the trend of bastardized traditional names. Just goes to show that society is getting so out of control with baby names that a post like this could be taken seriously.

I think I'm going to just let my cat walk across the keyboard, and name my baby whatever the cat types. By the time my kids start school, that'll probably be the only way they -won't- be made fun of for their name.

LOL. I really hope you are right. My first impulse was that this is a joke, and I still believe it probably is, but like you said - this naming thing is so out of control that it really could be for real. Gah.

I'm waiting to find out for sure from the OP.

RELIEF.

I thought so, but the scary part is that it could have been true. I was waiting for some righteous indignation. You know, "OMG WTF its my baby and we want it to be meaningfull, your so rude and it's none of ur bussiness!!!" ;)

I love the name Jack :)

Great post. Too funny.

LOL, it's a joke. I promise. I'm friends with the weirdo ;) It just cracks me up that things have gotten so out of hand with names that anymore you have to assume it -might- be serious.
