For the longest time, I've had my top 3 names for each gender basically set. However, I've recently been reconsidering these, and I'm wondering what you think. Middle names are set in stone as middle names, but I'm willing to budge on first names if you have any other suggestions. My other favorites include Elliot, Torben, Caleb, and Jack for boys and Catherine, Madeleine, Kendra, Anna, and Harriet for girls.

For the boys, I like Samuel, Charles, and Brendan, and for girls, Eleanor, Anika and Maren. I like Harper a lot as a middle name.

I prefer set A, I find them all better, except that I don't really like any nicknames for Henry except for Harry.

I like Harry, too, but I like Huck better. And I don't like either for an adult, but I DO like Hank for both a child, or an adult, which is why I'd go with those. Besides, Harry is too "Oh my God, I read Harry Potter when I was 15!"

I love Eleanor, and I like Anika and Maren *a lot*, but I don't think they fit together. And I'm torn on whether I like Piper or Eleanor better. Sigh. Boys names are so much easier for me, because most of them just kind of...fit. Even my "weirder" ones seem to fit, with the exception of Torben. I like Brendan, Charles, and Sam a lot, too:)

My favorites would be:
Brendan Michael, Charles Atticus(Charlie), and Samuel Michael for boys
and
Juliet Adrienne, Anika Margaret(Ani), and Maren Eleanor(Mia) for girls.

..but if I had to go with one set I'd probably go with Set A because I absolutely love Charles Atticus.. especially using Charlie as a nn, and Juliet Adrienne is my favorite out of your girl names.

I like Juliet Adrienne a lot, too:) Plus, Adrienne is my best friend's name (it'd be used after her), so I'm quite partial.

Chances are very good that I'd go with the ones in Set A, or similar/more classic names, because my love of names like Piper and Anika seems to be intense but short lived, while my love of names like Catherine, Louisa, Juliet, etc. tends to be more stable. I'm just IN LOVE with the name Piper right now. It's so...spunky.

I absolutely love everything in set A. I absolutely adore Eleanor. It was in my top list but totally vetoed. I think Piper is really pretty, too.

Now that I think about it, I like Samuel a lot more than Brendan, but I don't like it with Michael. The "el-el" endings bother me.

I'm not that worried about what is trendy in this community; I'm more worried about what is trendy in the real world. Plus, I don't think that "trendy" and "popular" are necessarily interchangeable. That is, even though a name like William might be popular, I don't think it's trendy. I don't care much about popularity.

I'm glad you like Juliet Adrienne -- I love that one, too:) I'm basically in love with the name Piper right now, though, so I'm kinda sad that no one else likes it;)

Yay! Somebody else likes Piper! :) I'm torn on which one I like more, because it seems really...weird...to use Piper and Eleanor in the same family, because they don't seem to even be in the same category of names, haha.

I agree that popular doesn't necessarily equal trendy, and I don't consider any of your names to be trendy in the real world. However, if you're going for different but not necessarily UNEEK, set B is more fitting with a few adjustments, IMO. "Sam" would definitely not be the only one in his class. Phineus/Finn probably would be. (If that's important to you, that is. It is to me!)

I LOVE Piper, BTW. I've always loved it.

I'm just glad to see someone else likes the same names I do at all. We've been fighting tooth and nail trying to name our twins and it's been miserable. I fought so hard for Henry! How can someone not like the name Henry?! It's timeless! Eleanor is such a beautiful name. Piper is a little bit different, but it is not 'too' out there and I can definitely see it on a grown up as well. Piper and Eleanor do seem kind of weird together but I think it could be done!

I like set B better, but that's mainly because I find classical names rather boring. Also, I think Maren Eleanor/Mia, is absolutely great. As is Phineas.

I prefer set A because I like 5 names out of both the boys and the girls (so the ones I don't like would be Atticus and Louisa, but it goes well with Harper)
Set B is a bit too out there, with Piper and Graham together, and I'm not big on your spelling choices (I prefer Phinnaeus and Annika). I also don't like Maren for a first name.

Hahaha, yes! That's who "Carver" is after. Harper, Carver, an Atticus are all after some of my favorite writers/characters:) The rest are family names, and Adrienne is after my best friend.

I figured that nobody else would like most of the names in B. The only one I'm *really* attached to is Piper, so I'd probably end up using names in/similar to Set A. I normally go for the more timeless/classic. But I totally fell in love with the name Piper a while ago, and I can't seem to figure out how to fit it with some of my other favorite names. I guess I gotta do some more searching.

I know Samuel Michael sounds really similar :[ But, it doesn't matter to me *that* much. Michael is after my brother, and I am dead set on using it as the middle name for my first son; I've also pretty much been dead set on naming my first son Sam for years, so they're stuck together, even though I'm not crazy about the flow.

I LOVE Henry and Eleanor. Piper is just...spunky. I love it, haha. I can just totally picture a little girl named Piper who doesn't take anybody's shit. And I think it works on an adult, too. I always think of Piper Perabo (the actress) when I hear it, so it doesn't make me think of a little kid. And if I used a middle name like Eleanor, Adrienne, Margaret, etc. that gives her a lot of options for middle names.

Oh, well. I've got time to figure it out. I am just totally in love with that name right now.

I don't really like Samson all that much. I mean, I'm not CRAZY about Samuel, it's mostly just the nickname Sam that I want. But Samson just seems so...Bible story-ish to me, haha. Which is weird, because Samuel is from the Bible, too, but I have other connotations for it, too, you know?
