What do you think of the name Kendra?

I sort of like it. I never had an opinion though until watching "The Girls Next Door" and liking Hugh Hefner's girl friend Kendra. That may not be the best vote for the name.

I've seen it mainly in pagan web communities, so it's sort of a new age screen-name to me.

I was and am baffled as to how Dumbledore's mother could be born in a 1980s American trailer park.

I don't like it, but I'm not sure why. I guess it's just not my style.

I like it.
But probably wouldn't use it.

It seems trashy to me too, but I'm not sure why. I did go to school with a girl named Kyndra (but pronounced KENdra..) that was pretty trashy, but I didn't like the name before I met her. =/

There was a slayer on Buffy named Kendra.
That's all I can think of.
Aside from that, it's an okay name.

I don't care for it.
It seems made up.

I like it. My friend's stepsister is named Kendra.

I don't really like it and it always reminds me of the slayer from Buffy with the extremely patchy accent.

so it's from HP?? that would explain why the pagan are so fond of it

The name of Dumbledore's mother wasn't revealed until book seven, though. So if that's where the popularity comes from, it can't have been popular for more than about, oh, 4 months.

Kendra has always seemed really lovely to me. :-) I've never thought of it as being associated with pagans in any way. Nor have I thought of HP as being associated with them either.

yeah I agree, but so many pagans are closely tied with the whole fan-fiction world

i don't like it. seems trashy to me, and it gets lost in the mess of trendy k names like kaylee and kaden.
and i can't get over the "ken" part. seems so masculine, and plastic barbie doll-ish.
what about sandra?

I don't like it either.. sorry.
I went to school with a girl named Kendra.. and she was nice.. I just don't know why I don't like the name.

I. HATE. Kendra. She's the dumbest person ever. She also looks like a Stacy doll or whatever Barbie's sister's (cousin?) name was.

So yeah. The name makes me think of her. I do not want an airhead child.

It's...okay, I guess. However, every time I hear/see it, I think of "Ken-DRA, the vampi're slay'r"

i like it, & i've only ever met/known one Kendra in my life. she was this really petite, cute little thing. she was twin set, Andrew & Kendra.

I agree, I never got trashy trailer park from Kendra. Even with all these other people saying it, I just don't get that vibe. *shrugs* FWIW, I really like the name. It's youthful yet classic.

Yeah, I kinda like it. Though I don't really think I'd use it because of the "Ken" at the beginning, it seems quite masculine.

Haha, my first reaction, too. She was Jamaican (I think) and had a stake called Mr. Pointy. She was rather adorable, though, so I have no negative reactions to the name as a result. It's not my favorite, though.
