It's okay, but I prefer Brennan. I'd spell it Brenner if you were to use it.

I don't like Brendan so I call him Bren/Brennar. So it has more of a nickname sound to me. But hey, half the names around these days come from being nicknames so... if you like it as a name, go for it!

I did have the same feeling, as I've been called Jesser(s) as a nn for Jessica.
But I think I prefer it to Brennan, because Brennan has too many N's :P
