Photo Studio Fun!
Oct. 14th, 2007 09:44 pmI went with my sister to get my niece's picture taken today. There was a large group of kids there waiting when we got there. Throughout the course of the afternoon, I learned a couple of their names. They were:
Boys:
McCoy (4ish)
Aiden (4ish)
Lathan (3ish)
Girls:
Ryleigh (20 months and it was embroidered on her diaper bag this way)
Sterling (2)
I don't really like any of their names (I do like Riley, but I prefer it spelled that way). The interesting part of the afternoon was when my niece walked over to them and stared at them. She's only 17 months and doesn't talk very much...especially not to people she doesn't know. So, McCoy noticed she was there, and asked her what her name was. My sister said her name was Annabelle and he scrunched up his face and said "That's a weird name!" I've never really considered Annabelle a WEIRD name, but alright. My sister and mom were completely surprised by this. His parents weren't too happy either, they apologized a thousand times. None of us were offended by what he said, he was little and doesn't understand tact...whatever. They pretty much all have interesting names...so I guess it's just the difference there. My weird is their normal and my normal is their weird. I just thought it was interesting.

Date: 2007-10-15 05:43 am (UTC)For me, Annabelle will always make me think of the rather depressing Christmas movie. Well, I guess it's not that depressing. It's cute and all. It's just what I think of when I hear that name.
Sterling is interesting.

Aiden - Super popular.
Lathan - Made up.
Ryleigh - Misspelled.
Sterling - Gender confused.
At least they pulled their names from many different "sources". :P

These are vomit inducing names.

Date: 2007-10-16 03:44 am (UTC)I think that's the story anyways. It's been a long time since I watched it and it scared me a little when I was younger. No idea why. I think I felt for Annabelle losing her voice because at the same time I was losing my hearing.
