[identity profile] hemsky83.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
We're not expecting anytime soon, but I've edited my huge list down to 3 names for each sex.

Mikayla Patricia Eileen D  (1)
Mackenzie Eldora D (2)
Elodie Brooke D (3)

Ryan Cole D (1)
Kyle Ford D (2)
Brady Alexander D (3)

(1) Originally he wanted Kayla, which I really don't like the sound of, it just sounds unfinished to me. Patricia and Eileen are after both of our grandmothers which we're both very close to. Not the nicest names, but we both really wanted to include them.
(2) I know there's a lot of Mackenzie's out there but I'm not finicky about popularity. We're both huge race fans and Eldora Speedway is one of our favorite tracks so when I saw that it was actually on babynames.com I fell in love with it as a name.
(3) This one is a problem. As Elodie Brooke D, it sounds beautiful, but as just Elodie D it sounds terrible :/

(1) FH's name s Cole Ryan, so it's named after him, but we don't have to call the kid Cole Jr.
(2) I've always love the name Kyle, and Ford is his grandfather. However, his brothers name is also Kyle and FH's pretty against the name, but I'm keeping it on the list as long as I can lol
(3) No real explanation behind these ones I just love each name and think the whole name flows nicely together.

So basically I'm just looking for some comments and feed back if you's would :) VOTE on my Name List

I really, really don't like the spelling "Mikayla," because the name is actually Michaela. It's a pet peeve of mine, but there's no reason for that to influence you :)

Mikayla and Mackenzie both definitely say NASCAR to me, as does Brady.

I like everything else.

Mikayla Patricia Eileen D (1) - It's spelt oddly, and I think the name is ugly anyway.
Mackenzie Eldora D (2) - Mackenzie is possibly the worst name.
Elodie Brooke D (3)- Lovely! I doub't you'll have to worry about the Elodie D thing, it's an unusual name so she'll most likely be the only one around.

Ryan Cole D (1)- Eh, bit boring but fine.
Kyle Ford D (2) - I don't like Kyle at all.
Brady Alexander D (3) - Don't like brady that much but Alexander is a great middle name.

Mikayla Patricia Eileen- I used to really have thing for the name Michaela. Can I ask why you'd want to spell it differently? I think its quite pretty spelled the original way. I don't like double middle names, but I like Patricia and Eileen as separate names.
Mackenzie Eldora D (2) I think Eldora is pretty but Mackenzie is very masculine to me.
Elodie Brooke D (3) Elodie sounds like a nickname and Brooke sounds like a spoiled rich kid to me. I prefer Eloise to Elodie.

Ryan Cole D (1) My brother's name is Ryan and I really like Cole!
Kyle Ford D (2) I don't like Kyle at all, I think its dated.
Brady Alexander D (3) Alexander is nice! Brady screams Sex and the City to me.

I'd spell Michaela correctly.

Does it sound bad just as Elodie D or as Elodie FullLastName? Because chances are pretty good she wouldn't be called Elodie D much. That's not a common name at all.

1. Mikayla is a really tacky spelling of Michaela. Seriously, they both sound the same, so why not go with the proper spelling?
2. MacKenzie literally means "son of Kenzie." It's not meant for a girl, and it's an awful, awful name.
3. Brooke just screams nineties to me. Elodie's nice, though.

1. Brady is not something I can imagine on someone older than five. Why not switch it around and have it be Alexander Brady? It sounds a looot nicer, and Alexander is a far better name.

NASCAR

*perfect* and accurate description. I live in the deep south, I so unfortunately understand the exact meaning of that lifestyle. *shudders*
