to me, Dinah is only pronounced DYE-nah (otherwise it'd be Dina). I hope that's the one you like :-)

I know what you mean about Hector. I'm not totally sold on it myself--the other three are the real staples on my list--but most out-there boys' names I write off pretty quickly, and I was surprised that I didn't have a problem with this one.

I knew a guy named Joby, and I absolutely loved him, and the name on him. It might've been a nickname for Job, but I could see that being a name he didn't want to use ever (like my friend Roo who refuses to go by her given name of Ruth). At any rate, it's sort of in memory of him.

Hector - Love. Instantly makes me think of Pirates OF The Caribbean, but then I class that as a good thing! :D
Lee - It's ok. A bit boring, but nothing wrong with it.
Joby - Hmm. Is this a real nane? I don't like it at all.
Earl - Not my style, but I like the idea of it. I wouldn't ever use it though.

Fern - HATEHATEHATE. Mainly because of a bitch-girl I know called Fern. Other than that, I think it's a pretty name!
Dinah - Makes me think of a cat? Why? Not a fan.
Viola - Not by style, but it's pretty.
June - My mum's name, and she hates it! I'm not a huge fan of month names!

Etienne is a gorgeous name!
Hector is also too stiff in my taste, Lee is a sound to me, not a name, but it's a good filler middlen name. Earl has always given me pronounciation problems, but the one that seriously bothers me is Joby.

Lee seems really boring, Joby seems made-up (although I feel like it is a legit name), and Earl sounds like a redneck name.

I really like Hector, though! One of my favorite movies has a character named Hector, and they call him Heck.

For the girl names, I don't really like any of them. I'm not a fan of naming your kid after musical instruments, so I don't like Viola, month names are boring, and Fern seems really ugly.

Dinah is okay, but I like Diana or Dena better.
