Wdyt of Seda for a girl? I prn. it like: SAY-dah. Is this a real name, if so, does anyone know the history behind it? What spelling do you like best: Seda or Sada?

I haven't ever some across this name before, but unless you spell it Sayda, I think it will probably be pronounced incorrectly.
Seda looks like Seed-uh.
Sada looks like Sad-uh.

I'm interested to find out if it is an existing name, or a new creation. ;)
Kind of reminds me of the gaming system Sega.

It made me think of the word adist or sadism (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=sadism).

sorry, typo. that should say sadist. (Why can't we edit comments - so annoying.)

It's ok, kinda looks like the boring version of Sadie (and I think Sadie is cute). I'm not wild about it, but I think it could work. But I would spell it differently.

It's kind of cute, but maybe for a nickname. My boyfriend has a 95 year old neighbor named Meda (pronounced like MAY-dah)

I think it's pretty. I found these meanings on yeahbaby.com

Russian (Armenian) meaning of the girls name Seda: forest voices

Japanese meaning of the girls name Sada: pure one

and some related names:

SÄDE
Usage: Feminine, Finnish
Means "ray of light" in Finnish.

SA'DIA - feminine form of SA'D, which means "fortune, good luck" in Arabic. This was the name of a successful military commander for the Muslims during the early years of Islam.

SITA
Usage: Feminine, Indian, Hindu Mythology
Means "furrow" in Sanskrit. Sita is the name of the Hindu goddess of the harvest. This is also the name of the wife of Rama in the Hindu epic the 'Ramayana'.

SADIE
Usage: Feminine, English
Pet form of SARAH

Saada: African (Swahili) meaning: help

It IS a real name, it's on my list. Except I'm spelling it Sadah so I'm glad you're spelling it differently. :) Sadah is Arabic meaning good fortune. So if you can't find any other meaning for yours, I'd use that and just say it's a variation of spelling (which it is since they're pronounced the same).

I think it's a pretty name, one of my teachers was prounouncing someone's name incorrectly and was calling her "say-dah" and I thought it sounded really pretty. I like the spelling Seda.

I like it. I like the spelling Seda better than Sada but when I first saw it I pronounced it See-Dah.

I LOVE Sada. I went to school with a Sada and loved her name, then.

I would consider using it, my only problem is if someone wanted to make fun of her, they could easily call her "Sadist" or "Sadan" (Satan) or any cruel combo one can come up with.

I think Sada is a beautiful name. Seda, too. As far as I know, the Sada I knew never had that problem, at least not in college.

I suppose one can make fun of just about any name if one really wanted to.
