I know Waneta is a proper american indian name. But I don't know about the double 'e'.

Sure looks like it to me...
What a gross spelling.

It reminds me of one of my friends, she told me that one of her great-grandmothers or great-aunts was named 'Wona' and it was pronounced the same as Juana.

I didn't bother to look at the comment above mine before I posted. It's fine if it's an American Indian name. The spelling is not appealing to me.

I'm pretty sure the lady who lived in my house before I did was named Wonna.

I don't think it's Juanita...since that's supposed to be pronounced differently.
I don't really like Waneeta, but it sure is original ;)

I imagine the conversation going something like:
"WE NEED A NAME!"
"Waneeta's her name?"
"What?"
"I like it! Waneeta!"
"Cool! Hey, how'd you come up with it? Bring me the birth certificate!"

It's bad. I knew a girl who claimed to have a child named Mary Antwanett. Why would you fake having a child with such a horrible name?
