Newbie with some names

Hi, newbie here. I don't have children but I'm a writer and one of my favourite aspecs of writing is naming the characters I create. I've always had a fasnication with names...here are some of my favourites. I tend to be a fan of tradional names.

I LOVE Ezra! I really want to name a kid Ezra and call him Ez as a little nn (not one he would actually write down or anything, but like in the family call him that) My partner mentioned it as a joke one time b/c he said it sounded cool, this was several years ago, and I laughed and said ummm no. Over the years it has really grown on me though! Not sure if I'd relaly put it on a kid tho, heh lol.

My name is Bethany. :) I never used Beth as a nn and I'm glad. There are several names Beth can stand for, but Bethany by itself is unique and pretty. I know you said it's mostly for writing fic, but still, that's my 2 cents.

lol. that's why i joined this community to, it helps me create names and stories for my writings as well. i also go for the more traditional names. i've also had a silly fascination with names as well. you might also want to find out the meaning behind each name that you like, and have the character's name play out as a symbolic aspect of foreshadowing.

i liked these, and why:

GIRLS:
Bethany (nn Beth): my mother's name is beth, and i hate my mother, but bethany is beautiful
Cassandra (nn Cassie): I like it as Cassie. When I think of Cassandra though, it just seems like the person would have an evil nature about them
Emma: my cousin just had a baby named Emma Katherine, and I think it's sweet, not too overly used, but it's very feminine.
Grace: i fell in love with this name from watching too many the nanny episodes, so i adore the nickname gracie
Hazel: very rare, but it's also simple; it was a very popular name back in the day, so it'd be great for a historical piece
Jessca: i'm not sure if you meant to spell it as Jessca, or Jessica, but either way it reminds me of Jehrica, another name that i like!
Milly: i've rarely seen this name in a book, but i think that it's wonderful in general
Rachel: it's simple, but it's also appropriate for any age
Sofia: i enjoy this name because it's simplistic
Tiffany: when i hear tiffany i usually associate it with the store, and i think rich, sumptuous and elegance

BOYS
Ezra: haven't heard this one in a while so i'm glad that i did, it's different without being too over the top
Jack: strong, heartwarming, the name is sturdy
Jonathan: i love Jonathan spelled with no "H" in between the "o" and the "n"
Peter: biblically speaking, it's wonderful
Thomas (nn Tom): too many stories i've read sink back to this name because it's easy to find nicknames for it i suppose
William (nn Liam): instead of William, why not just stick with Liam, since that can stand alone as its own name as well.
