Tobin's okay, but I think of Tobin Bell. Wasn't he the guy who was in those Saw movies?
Atticus is really cute. I like that a lot.
Blaze is awful; I'm pretty sure that's slang for getting high.

As for the girls, Evelyn is really pretty. Classy yet original.
Random is awful; it gives me the impression the baby was a mistake and totally unexpected.

Mostly fail. The only good one of the bunch IMO is Zaida.

Tobin, Alix, Atticus, Odin, Killian, Augustine, Evelyn, Amethyst, Imogen, and Olive get a half point.

Actually, these are real. I've seen a couple of the distinctive ones used by LJ moms in pregnant and breastfeeding. The poster probably frequents the same communities.

Tobin - LOVE IT. My mother had a good friend who died tragically who was named Tobin, and I've always liked it.
Alix - This spelling is the girls' spelling, and I'd prefer it as such.
Narls - Eh, really don't care for it.
Atticus - Love it, but don't like the To Kill A Mockingbird associations.
Colson - Alright.
Odin - I like it.
Boaz - I could never use it on a child.
Canon - Not my thing.
Killian - I like it spelt with a C better.
Blaze - Don't like it.
Augustine - Love it. :o)
Eoin - I like this one too.

Evelyn - Love it.

Chloah - Doesn't sound right to me.

But overall I like unique names. When I read through this list, I knew exactly who most of these children are - no last names or pictures needed.

Exactly. At least 5 of the names are from one very special community. ;)

To each their own, I guess. I think the WHY of choosing a name is a lot more important than what the name actually is. Heck, you could name your kid Ethel for all I care- I think Ethel is a hideous name, btw- but if Ethel is your great grandmother who you love so much and passed away unexpectedly and you were heartbroken, then for you to name your baby Ethel is understandable, and a tribute to someone you love.

Personally, I'm annoyed that my baby's name is super common now and still no one spells it correctly.

And, oh- the Narls mama in question didn't do it because of Mr. Barkeley, although I tease her about it constantly.

I know a little girl named Endeavor, and to me, it seems to follow your logic of "Random" - that she was unexpected or having her was a huge "endeavor". Very negative IMO.

Wow. I know a lot of these names, and although I might not use them for my children, I respect the parents that do use them. Of the names I know, the mama's are WONDERFUL and each name they picked has meaning. Those names are dear to my heart :)

Tobin - Wasn't Tobin one of Dax's hosts in Star Trek? That's all I can think of.
Alix - I don't like the spelling and I think it should be short for something.
Narls - Lol. Makes me think of the words "gnarled" and "snarls".
Atticus - I kinda like it but I hate that it's getting so popular. Also, I don't know if I can picture it on a real child.
Colson - Blah. Cole is ok.
Odin - I knew one guy named Odin and he was a rapist so...yeah. I think it's OTT anyway.
Boaz - Not my style but it's actually pretty cool.
Canon - Um, it just doesn't work as a name to me.
Killian - Who is Ian and why do you want to kill him? I think this name is too harsh sounding.
Blaze - Trying way too hard.
Augustine - Ugly.
Eoin - I like it.

GIRLS
Evelyn - Classic but a little too "old lady" for my taste.
Random - Hahaha. Random? Seriously?
Chloah - Ew. Cross between Chloe and Noah? I think it's pretty horrid.
Quen - Just no.
Karmindee - It looks like they were thinking of Carmen or Mindy and threw them together and went for a kre8yv spelling. Bad.
Amethyst - Meh.
Imogen - I think it's quite a nice name.
Olive - I can't get past the thought of...well, olives.
Kavita - It's nice enough.
Emer - Undecided. Is this a real name or a weird spelling of Emma?
