Looking for a name ...
Aug. 28th, 2007 02:55 pmMy husband and I are going to start TTC this fall, and we're thinking of possibly naming the baby after our grandparents, because I lost two grandmothers this summer and he lost his grandfather (all within three months).
His grandpa's middle name was August, which I like, and can obviously be used for a boy or a girl.
My grandma's names were Mildred (Millie) and Edith Jeanette. I've been trying to find names that are a combination of the two (mainly of Millie and Edith or Eddy), but haven't yet found any. I was hoping some of you may have some ideas?

Date: 2007-08-28 08:31 pm (UTC)my friend has a little girl named Millie, she's just the cutest, sweetest little thing i've ever seen. her full name is Millie Mackensie Eileen lastname. i'm not overly fond of it, but the name Millie is cute.

Date: 2007-08-28 09:28 pm (UTC)Melody? Kind of sounds like 'Mil-Eddy'?
I suppose Eddy could be a nn for Mildred so you could just use Eddy even if it's short for a completely different name beginning with 'Ed' like Edia or Edessa or Eden or Edwina.

Date: 2007-08-28 09:32 pm (UTC)Amélie
Eden
Edie (ee-dee)
The closest smush I can find is Emily, but I find that pretty common and boring.
I think Eden Amelia is very pretty.

Date: 2007-08-28 10:31 pm (UTC)Ellie would work for a girl (Millie & Edith), Etta (Edith, Jeanette, Augusta). Um... I don't know. Ellie and Etta are the only two I can think of.
