VOTE on my Name List

None of the middle name combos are set, I'm so bad with middle names. Suggestions would be great!

Also, I was wondering what you guys think of the name Holden. It's not on my list, even though I love it, because I'm afraid it's too cheesy-literature-cliche... what do you think?

It's too cheesy-literature-cliche.

Also, that character's not actually a very good human being. I mean, he means well, but his behavior's not all that.

what?! not a good human being? well, it's true he's not an alter boy, but he certainly isn't a bad guy. he's just a regular teenage boy.

so anyhoo, i think we'll start seeing more and more "holdens" as our generation has children. therefore, i would skip it.

For girls, I really like Gillian, Josephine, and Nora. I like Margo, without the t, but Margot makes me think of "maggot" for some reason, and I doubt that's the connotation you want your daughter's name to have. I do like it without the t, though.

I like Margo(t) Adele and Nora Violet a lot. However, I'm not a fan of the middle names you have for Gillian, and since you didn't have any for Josephine, I figured I'd suggest some:

Gillian Ashley
Gillian Margo
Gillian Lenore
Gillian Sophia
Gillian Frances
Gillian Adele
Josephine Adele
Josephine Frances
Josephine Sophia
Josephine Ashley
Josephine Lenore
Josephine Corrine
Josephine Ramona

I also really like Sophia, and I'd totally push you to use it as a first name. I think Nora Violet, Josephine Frances, and Sophia Lenore would be a really cute sib-set.

For the boys, the only first name I really like is Charles. There's also nothing wrong with Oliver, Hans, or Francis, but I personally wouldn't use them. I like Andrew, Alexander, and James better as first names and Oliver and Francis as middle names, but maybe that's just me. Hans is growing on me, though, even as I write this comment.

I think Charles Oliver sounds a lot better than Charles Luther, but neither one is bad.

Andrew Francis
Andrew James
Andrew Oliver
Andrew Hans
Andrew Donald
Andrew Paul
James Oliver
James Francis
James Alexander
James Andrew
James Roark
James Donald
James Adam
James Luther
Alexander James
Alexander Donald
Alexander Francis
Alexander Oliver
Alexander Roark
Alexander Luther

I like the name Holden, but I could never use it because I always think of the Friends bloopers where Joey says his name is "Holden McGroin". :]
