hi gals, i just joined this community.
my name's Amy.. i live in houston.
you could even call it faux new orleans
for all the people from LA that are here..

i'm due in January, and i've already
picked a name.. Emma Cayden. i've heard
Cayden is a boy name, but oh well!
opinions on the name are totally welcome.

I think Caden/Cayden/Kaden, etc., is pretty unisex, thus will probably become increasingly female over the years. However, if you find yourself worrying, you could try Emma Cadence.

It's the #2 name, with Emily at #1. As long as unique isn't what you're going for, it's a classic name and very pretty, IMO.

Caden can go either way, although I think a classic middle name fits better with Emma than a trendy one does.

whoever said Cayden is a boys name must be very narrow minded. I think it sounds great with Emma.

You're not weird, I was in marching band in school, hearing that names makes me think of sweating, being yelled at, and ugly drummers.

it's not that cayden is a boy's name, it's that cayden/haden/aiden/jayden/laden/payden/shmayden is extremely overused.

I do like Emma, though.

haha ya. I know at least one Aiden, Jayden, Kaden and Hayden. All within the age range of 4 months to 2 years old. They're all boys though.

Emma Cayden sounds lovely but i just wonder...do you want your daughter to be one of many Emma's in her class? Emma is sooo popular now, I do love the name but personally, i'd prefer a more unique name.
