I like them both by themselves, but together.... Well.

When he's 19 and gets in trouble for underage drinking in college, that'll be one fun name to give to the cops.

*rolls eyes*

I don't like the name Jack. And naming your kid after alcohol is sort of lame.

Both are nice names, but not together. Could lead to some pretty harsh teasing as he grows up.

i love his whiskey!

in all seriousness though, it was a NAME before an alcoholic beverage; therefor i think it is an adorable name that he can grow into as well.

Oh God, they'll never believe him. If it were my dad and granted, he's a military cop so it never would be he'd get his ass kicked.

My sister's name is Bailey and my other sister's name is Morgan.

Of course, in that case it wasn't intentional.

Yeah, but it's sorta like naming your kid Hermione or Albus Severus these days. There is only ever going to be one meaning to most people. :-/

ok i had to look up both Hermione AND Albus Severus to realize what it was you were talking about. (not a harry potter fan)

so you see, there are always more then one meaning that can pop into someones head. i don't automatically think of whiskey when i hear the name jack daniel, i think of a child/person first. after all, Jack himself was a person long before his name was put on a label for mass production.

I hope he has sisters named Brandy and Bailey.

It's pretty iffy. Jack Micall Daniel would have been much better.

On a similar note, my neighbor growing up was named Jacqueline Danielle after Jack Daniel's. We called her Jackie, and she stayed at our house when her mother was in the drunk tank overnight. :(

I don't like alcohol names very much...because I just think of that every time the name is said.

I had a friend named "Brandy" a long time ago and people would always ask her..."Brandy?...like, the alcohol?". lol. I actually asked her that same thing when she first told me her name.

i like that, but i'd spell it differently :)

(i like the names jack and daniel, though if i were determined to use both, i'd change it to jonathan daniel and use the nn jack)

It appears that I am in the minority here, but I like the name and the whiskey was not the first thing I thought of upon seening the name Jack Daniel. My grandmother's a recovering alcoholic and her drink of choice before the interventions was Jack Daniel's, and that's still not what I immediately thought of. I'm just glad that someone named her kid Jack. I like that name.

I had coworkers named Jack Daniel and Pamela Anderson. It was pretty amusing when customers came in and reacted to the names. One lady busted out laughing and made a scene. Thankfully those two weren't in the building at the time.

I didn't think of the alcohol when I first read the name. But it was my second thought. I still like it as a name though. When my sister was pregnant she had Hennessey on her list for a girl but it had a different spelling.
