It's lovely, though I prefer Isabel to Isobel. Either's "correct", though.

I hate the spelling Isobel, but I think Isabel/le Scarlett is lovely.

Did you read a lot of Cynthia Voight as a kid?

One of her books is about a girl named Isobel whose life is destroyed by a drunk driving accident. I wondered if there was a connection.

Hm...they would better apart than they do together.

I like Isobel, but I don't like Scarlett, and I'm 99% sure that the Isabelle trend won't be over in 5 years.

Lovely, but I doubt the trend will be over. The top 10 generally don't change much in a short 5 years, thought the trend is more Isabella.

I'm never gonna stop loathing that Isobel spelling.
I'd read it Izo-bel, and it sounds like the name of a bear.

Sorry, I'm too much in love with Isabella to cave in :P

Absolutely love it! It's gorgeous. Isobel is a family name so that will be my daughter's third name.

The spelling 'Isobel' makes me think whoever started that trend was illiterate. Isabelle is a lovely, classic name though. When spelled correctly. I don't think it will ever stop being 'trendy', though. But it's one of those rare names that don't often get viewed as 'trendy' since it's so classic. If that makes sense.

it'd be even worse if the trend was just on the pitch downward
but it won't be
and I agree with the above poster; Isabelle is terrific the way it is.
