Recently I came across a girl whose name is Phyllis Korona, and goes by Korona.
I think Korona sounds like an eastern-european version of Korinna (Corinna), but she's partially of latin american descent. But then 'Corona' in italian means 'crown', so maybe it recalls something in spanish too.
What are your thoughts?

I'm sorry, all I can think is to offer the poor girl a lime.

Corona beer... Lime... Salt... I don't know.

In America at least nowadays sticking someone with the name Korona is hardly a step up from calling them a son Budweiser.

OBVIOUSLY, I NEED SLEEP!

Should have read:

"...hardly a step up from calling a son Budweiser."

If not for the brand association I would think it a very pretty name.

Just beer.

Corinna and Carina, on the other hand, are lovely.

Corona is crown in Spanish too ; ) It's soooo pretty, but I would never be able to get over the association with the beer.

I agree about the beer, and I also think of my favorite beach, Corona Del Mar (http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.visitusa.com/california/images/beach-photos/orange-county/corona-del-mar-state-beach/coronadelmar-waves.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.visitusa.com/california/beaches/orange-county/coronadelmar-statebeach.htm&h=662&w=800&sz=43&hl=en&start=0&um=1&tbnid=hdqCLJ6wL1K1FM:&tbnh=118&tbnw=143&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dcorona%2Bdel%2Bmar%26svnum%3D10%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN) (in Southern California).

And I don't like the spelling, particularly.

I wouldn't use it...Corona is a really popular beer around here. I thought "beer" right when I read the word Korona.
