I think you have to have some appropriate heritage or connection for those to work well.

That said, Stanislaus (Stantislav) is my grandfather's original Polish name, before he renamed himself when they came to America, and I'd love to use it for a boy's middle name someday. Then again, he'll be part Polish, so it works.

i like Antonin, Petr, and Alois (is that the slavic version of Aloysius? i love that name), and I went to school with a girl named Dagmara (similar to Dagmar), and i always felt bad because the name was so very unfeminine, but i suppose Dagmar is a boys name, so that doesnt really matter.
