Oh Lord *shudders* It's Ahn-ika, at least in Germany. My lab partner this semester was named Anika (and she was an absolute witch) and I know other Annikas as well...

I used to like the name, but because of the lab partner from hell, it's ruined to me.

Ah-nik-ah. That's how my friend Annika pronounces it anyway. It's amongst my favorite names.

Ann-ika

But I knew a girl once who was named Annika, and she pronounced it Ah-NEE-kah.

I'd say ann-ika but that's just because I know a little girl named Annika who pronounces this way.

I pronounce it Ann-ika, but that's probably because I'm American. ;)

Because of the double 'n' I'd pronounce it Ann-ika

it's the dutch/teutonic form of Ann, and they read it Ahn-nik-ah.

My friend Anika pronounces it AHN-ikah. But 'Annika' is pronounced ANN-ikah, I'm pretty sure. :)

Of course, I watch Pippi Longstocking last night. They (or the ones who dubbed it into English) said ANN-ih-kah. Definitely a favorite name of mine.

It's my daughter's name, and we pronounce it Ahn-ika, like the pro golfer Annika Sorenstam. My daughter's name is Annika Freya.
