Is there such a thing as a filler middle name for a boy? Some of the filler names for girls I can think of are Rose, Marie, Ann, and (IMO) Elizabeth. But I can't seem to think of any for guys. Thoughts?

Um. Maybe James or Michael or something like that?

I can't really think of any, though.

What makes it a 'filler' name?
I happen to love the name Rose, and Elizabeth is mine, my mums, and nanas middle name, so if I have a girl her mn wil also be Elizabeth.
And also with James, another of my fav. names, but I can'r really use it as its my brothers name, so it will proabably be a middle name!

Haha, that wasn't meant to sound like a rant!

I kinda agree about filler names. I think they only became thought of as 'filler names' because they were short and simple and very commonly used and often not very interesting on their own or used as a first name. And the only reason of this is they were popular and probably also in many cases family names. Many tend to be biblical. I think one could consider any name that is simple-sounding and commonly used a filler name. My middle name is Catherine and I see a lot of people in here who don't like it because it's getting to be somewhat of a filler name, or Elizabeth-- my mother's middle name and a name I may use, for the same reason. I like that I have my great-grandmother's and mother's name as my middle name and my daughter may have her grandmother's middle name great-great-grandmother's name as her first. My daughter's second first name was Rose and I used it because Roses are my favorite flower and my favorite color is red and her first first name meant flame. I also used it, IMO, before it started becoming known as of more and more of a filler, not that that would've changed my mind.

I don't like the idea of these being called filler names. My real name is Margaret Mary. It's not Margaret Mary because they had nothing better to put there. It's because that was my mom's name, and before her, Mary Ruth was HER mom's name, and her grandmother's were Margaret something and Mary something. It's not just thrown in there for no reason.

my mom is Margaret Mary :)
all of her sisters have either Mary or Marie as a first or middle name, except Donna because that's short for Madonna. so it's not really filler so much as religious.

My husband's filler middle name is Joseph. There's no meaning behind it for him. He wants to replace it with my maiden name.

I'd definitely have to agree on Lee.
