I have been watching Army Wives and am in love with Roxy's youngest boy Finn. He is adorable and I love his name. I have never heard it before.

What do you all think of it?

i heard it a while back, when Ethan Hawke did the movie "Great Expectations." his character was Finnigan, but was called Finn.

i don't like it, i'm not sure why.

I really love the name. I like Finnley as the actual name and Finn as the nickname.

This one's become increasingly popular in Hollywood. Maybe someone here has access to a celeb baby names site to give us stats on how many celeb kids are now Finn, Finlay, Phinneus etc.?

Still don't know how they managed to transfigure a character named Pip into one named Finn.

Finn is my favourite name for a boy. I love it!

I like it, but I kind of consider it a last name (I'm a big Buffy fan, and one of the characters had this as his last name). It's nice, though.

It's gotten pretty popular/trendy the last couple of years, but I do like it. It's cute :)

I prefer Phineas with Finn(y) as a nickname.

Great show, btw :)

...I've never seen Finn used on a girl.

I've only seen the first episode of Army Wives but I thought Roxy's son was absolutely adorable too! Finn could grow on me but right now it seems too trendy for me.

I really, really hate the name Finn. I reminds me of a fish. I just think it's stupid-sounding, plus for some reason it's become trendy right now.

I've seen it used on a girl...in a movie. How to Make an American Quilt. Even in movie-world, she was troubled with explaining it to everyone she met.

They changed most of the character names because they were so Dickensian. They initially changed Pip to Pompey, after some badass the screenwriter knew as a child, but Ethan Hawke (and most of the rest of the crew) hated it, so they talked him out of it. In the end, they let Hawke name his own character. He chose Finn.

I'm glad they didn't stay with Pip. No one would buy a modern-day Pip as a straight guy.

I love Finn, especially as a nickname for Finnegan. Thank you, Great Expectations.

I love it, #3 on my list :)
Can't decided whether I'd use it alone or as a nickname. It's great either way.
