Isabelle or Isobel

p.s. I'd use Izzy as a nickname.

I prefer just Isabel. Isabelle is okay, too, but I'm really not a fan of Isobel. There's just something about that spelling that bugs me.

Both names have a charm to them.
It's a tough choice, but I prefer Isabelle (though I have a soft spot for spelling it Isabel because it was almost my middle name.)
Isobel is lovely too though, but I would pronounce it differently. The 'o' would be obvious once heard.
Iz-oh-bel, as opposed to iz-ah-bel.

I looooove Isabella.
I'm not fond of Isabelle, I prefer Isabel, in that case.
Isobel sucks to me!

I'd use Izzy as a nn too :)
Or also Ella, for Isabella.

I like Isobel. It just looks nice. That's not to say Isabelle isn't nice as well, I just like Isobel a bit better.

i have an izzy here, my daughter. which is spelled Isabel. Everyone loves it, we call her Izzy, Izzy Izbourne, Busy Izzy, and so on. We never get tired of creating funny nicknames for her.

The name seems to be very popular these days. We've never met one her age (9) but we meet a lot of young baby Isabelles.

I'm 24, and when I was in primary school, all the little girls were named Isabelle. (I went to a French school.)

I'd pronounce them differently, and I prefer the Is-oh-bel sound so Isobel for me!

I pronounce Isobel and Isabel/Isabelle differently, but if we're going strictly by spelling, I think Isobel is nicest.

I always much prefer Izzie to Izzy. It seems a bit more substantial.
