[identity profile] babyxmomma.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
Hey =] I'm new to this community.

I just decided to Join!

I just turned 18 a week ago & Found out i'm pregnant about two or so months ago. Im nearly three & a half months along [ this friday it'll be exact. ]

I dont know what I'm having yet! [ Hopefully find out next month ] People are placing bets its a boy though.

So; girl names are really easy for me. But boy names, not so easy.  I don't have a "classic" name, at least not for my decade.  & I dont want my child to be a "brittany" or an "ashley" or a "john".

so for girls this is what im thinking;

Lacey [ my mom was gonna name me this; & its her grams last name. ] pronounced- lay-see.
Mackenzie.
Audrina.

& For boys I like

Landon
Hunter
Connor
& Tristin.

Input please? =]

I like Lacey and Mackenzie a lot....however I spell it Mackenzee. Audrina makes me think of that girl from "The Hills."

Landon, Conner and Tristin are very nice. Hunter is not my taste so much.

Good names though.

I love the name Audrina too, and I dont think its bad to use it even though you hear it on The Hills. Im assuming you just heard it on the show and liked it as suppose too "OMG Audrina is my idol, I am going to name my kid after her". By the time your child is old enough to ask what her name is all about , I am assuming Audrinas 15 minutes will be up and not many people will associate the name with her.

Although I like the name Lacey, I think of Lacey Petterson. :(

I'm afraid to say that, except for Audrina, they're all very common names these days, and Lacey was back in the 80's.
I think I like Adria better, though. Or Adrienne.
Congratulations on your pregnancy!! :)

I love love Audrina and all the boy names, especially Hunter.
Personally I'd spell Tristin "Tristan", but I can understand if you're going for a different edge.
Congratulations!

I vote Lacey and Hunter! I would not make fun of your child in the school playground, and I'd probably swoon when the time came. They're both very good swooning names. (I'm remembering a Hunter I met once who instantly was intriguing because of his name.)
:)
Good luck!

If you can't think of any more maybe you can look up websites of baby names and start forming a bigger list. There's so many names out there. Those names that you have said are fine but are quite popular for babies these days so if you're not happy to have your kid share a name with several others then you should keep looking. Also check the popularity of the name for last year to give you an idea of how popular the name will be in the kids own generation.. (can someone give the link? i'm not from USA so I don't actually look at that site that everyone here seems to use for popularity of names)

Good luck with it all!

Like other people have said, names like Landon or Hunter are what's common today, so I would suggest something else if you want to avoid common or popular. www.nymbler.com is an awesome tool, you can type in names that you like, and it will suggest other names based on those. You might come up with a name that you'd never even thought of, but that you love.

I like Hunter although it's apparently hugely trendy.

There are wayyyy too many Mackensies around (now with all sorts of different spellings).
Lacey is a lovely name. Not too trendy, yet not too common, plus it has a family connection. I couldn't think of anything better!
All of the boys names you mentioned have been very popular lately. Likely, there will be more than one child in his class with those names. Landon is the best of the bunch.

Lacey: I really like it, but wouldn't use it myself. I think of lace and frilly doilies. LOL So, not for my child, but I like it on other people.
Mackenzie: From what I hear, very popular, but I do love it. Possible name for us if our baby is a girl.
Audrina: Not my style. I tend to not care for names that begin with "Aud" for some reason. I do like Aurelia, though.
Landon: Not my style, but OK. A little trendy and don't like it enough to use despite that.
Hunter: Love it... but it's our last name, so I can't use it. :(
Connor: Iffy. I think I like it. Not sure, though.
Tristin: Tristan (spelled that way) is my ABSOLUTE favorite boy name. I'm hoping to sway husband's opinion on it, because he doesn't care for it at the moment. (He is warming up to it, though... so maybe!) Don't care for the "Tristin" spelling, though.

And congrats on the pregnancy! I'm pregnant as well (6 months) and have the opposite problem -- I like too many names! :P

Mackenzie is the new Brittany. Actually, it's the old Brittany. It's Brittany when Brittany became Brittany, the butt of a lot of bad valley girl shtick.

First, congrats on your pregnancy :]

I am the complete opposite with names, I have a hard time with girl names and it was so simple for boy names

Girls name, I like them all, there very pretty. I would do Lacey cause it has a family ties.

For the boy name I like Landon and Hunter but those are very popular so I dont know if your going for that route. Connor is a veyr nice name too.
