Hello!

I'm due with my second baby in October and we are not finding out what we're having. So, this time around I have to come up with a decent selection of both boy and girl names. eep!

Here's what I have so far.

Girls:
Hope
Megan (or variation)
Joy
Allegra (or variation)
Nadia (or variation)
Phoebe
Josslyn
Elaine (middle name)

Constance (middle name - my mom's name)
Star (middle name - likely choice for boy or girl, story behind it)

Mason (middle name - also my husband's name, and he's Mason IV ... he kind of wants to go for a Mason V, but I just don't know about that)

Any thoughts on these, or combinations of these? We have a very common, 2-syllable last name.

i like hope, joy, phoebe, and sage. i have a friend named constance who goes by connie. as for josslyn, i am in love with the name jocelyn, so i don't really like it. i like the named penn and mason too. i really like the combo phoebe sage. :)

Oh I love Allegra! I think Allegra Sage sounds really cute. I'm not a fan of the name Star, but if you guys like it, then that would go very well with Allegra too, IMO.
Joy Constance and Penn Mason sound good too =)

My mom goes by Connie. :)

I was hoping for a name that meant either hope or joy for a girl.
But my husband doesn't like Joy, so I've been seeking alternatives to that.

I like both spellings of Jocelyn/Josslyn, actually. :)

*laugh* well, after the thread on 'patriotic' names earlier in the week, I was kind of afraid to mention it. ;)

Liberty Moya.

Moya is a family name, and both my husband and I like Liberty. She goes by Libby, which is also a family name, so it worked out pretty well overall. :)

Nadia is one of the first I came up with, and I really like it too. :)

The only downsides I see with going with Mason as a first name are that Mason is such a popular boys' name, and that my husband's name AND his dad's name are Mason (like I said, hubby's a fourth), so it could get really, really confusing around here. heheheh

I really like Allegra too, but I'm afraid that people might associate it with the allergy medicine. :(

Allegria is another option, also meaning joy and happiness.

I wouldn't use Star as a first name, but as a middle name it can work pretty well, I think.

I like both spellings of Kellen/Kellan, but wouldn't go with the Talan spelling of Tallon/Talon, just because I think it would end up being pronounced Tay-lon, which wouldn't work as our last name is Taylor. ;)

Terran I really like as well, but couldn't use Star as a middle name on that one - translation would be Earth Star, which is kind of silly. heh

I've always loved Phoebe, even though I read it in a book long before I heard it out loud and so I was totally mispronouncing it in my head for a few years. *laugh*

Tara Elaine is a combo I hadn't considered, and it rolls well.

I also like both spellings of the Grey/Gray names. :)

Hmm, that's tough. On one hand, you need something that goes well with it. I'd say word-names, like Hope or Grace or Joy. But then, on the other hand, those sound WAY too theme-y, you know?

Out of your choices, I like Allegra, Nadia and Sage & Gideon and Gavin.

You said you like Megan. What about Megha (prn. Meg-uh)? Nadia could be Nadine.

Boys: They all end in -on/an/en sound so pairing any on the list (besides Connell + _____) probably wouldn't be wise. As a first name, though, my favorite would have to be Gavin.

Megan (or variation) - I am not fond of this name at all. There are a lot of Megan's my age (I'm 21)..and im not friends with any of them.
Joy - I like it spelt Joi. Its cute.

Phoebe - Its really cute but It makes me think of Friends.

My Dad wanted to name my brother after him (Kevin) but my mom did not want a Kevin Jr. Soo they gave my brother Kevin as a first name but a different middle name than my Dad. Maybe you would like to do that.
Grey/Greyson - LOVE greyson
Tallon - I like it spelt Talan better but its a great name
Terran - I feel like its Terrence without the ence.
Connell - great
Gavin - one of my favorites

I'm friends with a girl named Alegria (al-eg-REE-uh, emphasis on the REE), but people generally say it "uh-LEG-ree-uh," which is still pretty but not quite what it's meant to be.
She goes by "Al" and sometimes "Legs", but only to her friends (i.e. never formally).

And I'm not sure if I like the flow of Sage Taylor. Something about the vowel sounds.
