Giselle?

What do you guys think about the name Giselle?

 I have always thought that it was just ok....but lately I have been thinking that it is a rather pretty name.

I would love to hear your opinions on it.

Hm...I don't dislike it for any particular reason, but it makes me think of the model and of a gazelle. But really it's not bad.

The first things that come to mind are the model and this total bitch of a customer we have, this little old French woman with a big mouth. We also used to call my sister Giselle because someone told her once that she looked like a model. So it seems kind of like a joke to me and I don't have the best associations with it.

Gisella (italian version of Giselle) here in Italy is a bit uncommon but still heard of, especially among the 50's-60's generations. Therefore, I associate it with a middle age housewife.

And come to think of it, I'm not sure what Giselle sounds like in english.

I heard a little girl being called Giselle the other day. For a while, I thought her mom was saying "Shazelle", which is hideous.

I think the name is pretty, but I would never use it, mainly because I've already had this conversation with my male friends and they laughed because it sounds like Jizz Elle.

Giselle Sorella was a name we were going to use, but decided against because of the "elle" repetition. I still think it's pretty. Also considered was "Giselle Estella" but axed for the same reason.

My great aunt's name is Giselle Marie (she is French Canadian so both names are pronounced in the French way.)

I think it's beautiful, but then I've heard one being called "GIZZ-ull" far too many times. Not sure all Giselles suffer from this, though.
