My favourites!

Hello, my name is Meghan Marie and I have posted a list almost exactly the same to this before, but back in April. I'm only fifteen so it's not like I'm going to have children anytime soon, but I still want people's opinions on possible names!

Girls (in order from favourite to least favourite):

1. Lily Alice - I've always loved this name! When I told my mum recently, she told me that it's almost exactly the same as my great-grandmother's name--Lilian Alice Braithwaite. I knew her name was Lilian, but had no clue that her middle name was Alice! She's always been intriguing to me seeing as she was from England and I'm a massive Anglophile. I never did get to meet her, though--she died before I was born.
2. Elizabeth Maren - Elizabeth has been my favourite name the longest, probably. I just heard the name Maren in May and fell in love with it immediately.
3. Merry Abigail - I've loved both of these names for years now. This past school year I had an English teacher that I became really close with whose name is Merry, so it just sort of fits.
4. Catherine Emily - Based off of Emily Bronte and her character Catherine Earnshaw from Wuthering Heights.
5. Madeleine Hermione - Madeleine was my name in French class last year and my favourite Harry Potter character is Hermione.

Boys (in order from favourite to least favourite):

1. Harry James - Even if it is based off of Harry Potter, I love both those names.
2. Gordon Ian - There's really no reason why I love this name, I just do.
3. Neville Zachary - Same as above.
4. Daniel Jacob - Same as above.

I hate Wuthering Heights. But the name combination sounds nice. Though I think I'd use Emily Catherine. It flows better to me.

Maren is pretty, but I think of it as more a last name than a middle or first name. I do like Merry Abigail a lot, which is funny because I didn't think I would. I do believe it's my favorite from all of them.

Harry James- yeah, everyone's going to think Harry Potter. Then again, by the time you start having kids, the books might not be so popular anymore, so perhaps you won't have problems with the name.


Neville...same thing as above. Though I admit that I don't like it as much as Harry. Sounds old fashioned to me and not in a good way. I do like Daniel Jacob and Zachary by itself. Not too keen on Gordon, though Ian's okay.

I don't think Merry makes a good name, because that word barely exists these days unless followed by "Christmas", so "Merry Abigail" almost sounds like a greeting, and that Abigail is an event, if that makes sense. I think it would also have more teasing potential than other names. Otherwise I like it in theory but I don't think it could work in real life (although obviously you know someone in real life who you do think it works on, but you may not know whether she even likes her name or if she has been teased for it etc)

Lily Alice is beautiful. My friend named her son Harry James last year and nobody has mentioned Harry Potter, and I'm not sure if she is even a fan but it wasn't after the books.

Abigail is a pretty name, I love it, but of course my guy does NOT. But out of all the names, I think that one is my favorite...minus the Merry

I don't like Harry as a given name, just as a nick-name. But if it's significant to you, then I think that's the most important thing.

merry abigail is adorable. i've never thought of merry as a name before, but i quite like it. it's so cheery. :) and abigail is very sweet.
lily alice is very nice, especially alice. elizabeth maren is classic and sweet. the other two girls' names are also very nice.
my favorite of your boy's list is neville. i would love to meet a little boy named neville. how charming!
