[identity profile] zoe-rules.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
Hello baby_names community! I'm not sure if this has been posted before, but I thought I'd throw it out there just in case because it's very cool:

http://babynamewizard.com/namevoyager/lnv0105.html

It's basically just a graph of how a name's popularity has changed through the years (dating back to the 1890's!). But I think the neat thing is you can type in just a few letters and see how names have changed spelling, etc...

Check it out!

I found Elizabeth for a boy on there. It was ranked 665 in the 1900s. I had never ever heard of Elizabeth as a male name.

I've been sluthing around and it seems like EVERY name was unisex around the turn of the century! There were women named James and men named Louise and women named Maurice. I had no idea whatsoever.
