What's your take on Beckett? Too surname-y?
I've been reading this play with my friend, and the playwright's last name is Beckett, and I figured that was pretty nice.

What do you think?

Definitely a surname.

That's so weird that you just posted this! My little brother's name is Beckett. I love it. Everyone else learns to love it quickly after being like "Brecken? Brecker? Breckett?" It's very fitting for his fiery little self, and I like to call him Beck. Or Wreck-It Beckett, because he is a very destructive 15 month old.

I love that name. :) I don't think it's to surname-ish at all. :)

I love it

But I think that Becki would be a good nickname for a girl. Althrough my sister being a Rebecca hates it.

I think it's a fine first name, though I prefer it as Becket, after Thomas Becket.

It makes me think of bucket, but I like it alot. Its just if I met someone named beckett I would probably think of bucket everytime I saw them in order to remember their name, which I don't think is bad, but some people might not be too flattered. I like it alot though. Its surnamey but would work great as a first name.

I love it. If I were braver and could see myself "naming outside the box," I'd name my son that.

Why not Godot, to extend your homage?

I'm not a fan of either, to be totally honest. Perhaps it's because the name ONLY brings to my mind Samuel Beckett who has inspired you, and he's freakishly pessimistic. For a baby? Y'know?

Beckett is a family name, so a few of my male relatives have it as a first name.
