Hi everyone, I just found this community a couple days ago and I love it. I want to start off by telling you my name, its Catherine Ruthe, and my last name has 4 syllables. I go by the nick name of Cathie.

Catherine meaning "Pure" and Ruthe meaning friendship. Ruthe is pronounced Ruth.

I was just wondering what you thought of my name, I think its pretty simple, but I have come to love it now.

I like the name Catherine, I think it's one of those long names that make for various nicknames, so that you can almost change you name in the different stages of life. I'm not sure how I feel about the final 'e' in Ruth, but I guess it's a nice twist on a traditional name combo as yours ;)

My mum's name is Catherine and it's a name that i love...i will definately be using it when i eventually have children.
I know a few other Catherines...and they go by endless nicknames...Kate, Katie, Cath, Cathy, Kat....which i think is kinda cool.
And my mum is a 'Cathy' too :)

Thanks, My mom gave my middle name ruthe because thats what how my grandma spells her first name, i guess if i had a choice i would have spelt it ruth because ruthe looks like it should say ruth"ie". And i never really thought about changing my nickname but its true, its a nickname and if i wanted I could change Cathie to Cate, or Cat.

I never thought about using catherine as a name for my children when i have them, but its a great middle name. My moms middle name is Catherine and thats where she got it. I use to go by Cathy but in the 6th grade i changed the spelling of it to IE because I think it looked better.
