I really like the girl names, Freyja and Isolde, as well as their variants. I'm wondering which one do you think is the nicest?

Here are some I have come across:

Freyja, Freya, Freja, Frejya

Isolde, Isolte, Iseult, Yseult, Isotta.

Any more spellings? Or which one of these?

Isolde is beautiful, but I always picture it as sad. I'd still say it is my favorite of the two.

I love both of those names. Though my husband vetoed Isolde because the thought that someone would say "Girl, you Is Old." bah!

behindthename says that Frea is another variation, but I don't like it as much as Freya or Freyja. Freja looks nice, but I think it would be more likely to be mispronounced Freesia.

I like both, but Freya more.

FREJA and ISOLDE are my fave spellings.

Freya and Iseult. Iseult shades it for me...

It's Cornish (http://www.behindthename.com/php/search.php?nmd=n&terms=Eseld).

Isotta is new to me and I like that as well. Isolde is just a beautiful name, in any form, I think.

I like Freya the best, and Isolde.
I've seen Freya spelled Friia before.

I want to pronounce Isolde "ees-OL-day", which I like a lot, but I don't think that's how it's supposed to be said.

I wouldn't use Freya as a name, but if you like it, then I suggest either Freya or Freja, but not with a double vowel because it's too messy

I know someone called Freya. It's a pretty ok name =). As for the Isolde variants, I like Isolde the best =P

I like the name Freja. Not so keen on Isolde and it's variations, however.

Freya and Isolde.
Make it easy for when the baby has to learn to spell it's own name :-)

I like Freyja. I've always liked that name, but I figured it would be instantly vetoed when my hubby said that Gaia and Rhea were too icky. Grrr!

Freya and Isolde. The j in Freyja throws me off.
