What do you think of Lux as a nickname for Lucy? They're both ultimately derived from the same word- Latin lux "light".

I don't think Lux makes a good nickname for Lucy, because they're pronounced differently, Luh-ks and Lou-cee.
Then if you're planning on pronouncing it Lou-ks, then in that case it would be good.
But I'm afraid after The Virgin Suicide (movie) Lux has spread as Luh-ks, like the character in it.

personally i see lucy as a nickname itself to lucia. lux i dont see how that comes into play with lucy is there really a relation?

I like it. Lucy is such a great name; Thomas Jefferson had a baby girl named Lucy Elizabeth that died at birth. I love Lux, too, esp as a nn for Lucy.

The only thing that keeps me from using Lucy myself is the I Love Lucy connection.

I've always liked the name, I'd use it on it's own. I can see it working nicely as a nickname for Lucy too.
