well, hello. i saw the community on lj spotlight, and just had to join. i have an odd obsession with baby names and what people name their babies. i'm horrible at introductions.



my name is schuyler. but it's pronounced SKY-LER. just a tip, don't ever name your kid with my spelling. it's absolutely embarrassing on the first day of school to have a teacher i've never had before say, "shoe-ler."

here are my favourite names:

Girls
Louise
Hannah
Edie (for obvious reasons, edie sedgwick)
Audrey
Shanti (my mom's name, it's indian for peace. her parents were hippies, hah)

Boys
Danny
James
Scott

I think that is the original Dutch (?) spelling, but the pronunciation is certainly not obvious to native English speakers...I had a class with a Professor Schuyler once and was completely clueless on how to say it until he introduced himself.

From your list I like Louise and Edie (quite fond of Hannah too), and for boys I like James and Danny (although I'd prefer Daniel I think).

yeah, it is the original dutch spelling. but it's a pain in the ass. haha.

i'm not that fond of daniel, but i do like the nickname danny.
